After prepartion to the ground was done last week, there's a new bright orange attraction to catch the eye at the top end of Seddon Street.
A freshly painted, retired mining Bogger has been laid to rest just below the Pump House.
Front End Loaders used in underground mining are referred to as 'boggers' locally.
In mines which use rubber tired equipment for ore removal, the ore (or "muck") is removed from the stope (referred to as "mucked out" or "bogged") using centred articulated vehicles (CATs).
For increased safety, they are commonly remotely controlled using radio links and cameras in underground operations.
