Newmont Waihi Gold look back to 2013 highlights in their first update of 2014.
Coromandel MP Scott Simpson spent a with at Newmont last January to familiarise himself with the company's operation.
The Newmont Mines Rescue team do a lot of work helping out in the community and they assisted the Coastguard with a search and rescue last February.
The Forresters Hall in Haszard Street was dismantled in March, with parts of it being stored for future projects. The Grand Junction refinery refurbishment was also completed in March last year.
In April the healthy homes fund was extended to the Martha Exploration Area next to the open pit with a total of 265 homes in Waihi receiving free insulation.
Simon Bridges, the Minister of Energy and resources took a trip down under in July and in September the Streets Ahead Programme for Waihi East was implemented.
The Environment Court approved modified resource consent conditions for the Correnso underground mine in October.
Altogether newmont Waihi Gold provided $344,185 in community donations and in kind assistance in 2013.
