Sergeant Aaron Fraser called in to the Gold FM studio to update the Police File.

Last Thursday at about 5.30 am 2 males attacked the occupants of a residence in the Waihi CBD and stole property. One person received superficial wounds in the aggravated robbery and Police are asking for sightings of a white Mitsubishi L300 van in the early hours of Thursday morning to be reported to them.

A rural burglary occurred at a property on the Waihi - Whangamata Road last Thursday. A window was left ajar and a 22" TV, chainsaw and welder were stolen.

Also on Thursday, a ladder was stolen from the back of a utility vehicle parked on Morseby Avenue.

Again - on Thursday, at 10.30 to 11 pm; men who pulled over when their car overheated in the Karangahake Gorge were shocked when a Toyota Corona (License # OY6661) carrying two Maori males pulled up behind them and one of the males started hitting the overheating vehicle with a heavy chain demanding money. The men who had been attacked were chased by the Toyota as they drove towards Waihi.

On Saturday night a Toyota MR2 being driven towards Waihi on the Waihi Beach Road rolled when the driver lost control of the vehicle. Two occupants were very lucky not to have been seriously injured.
