Sergeant Aaron Fraser updated the Gold FM Police File today.
Family violence is an ongoing problem at the moment.
Youth are also causing concern and the Waihi Police are keen to curb behaviour that is a danger to people and property.
Last Wednesday police went to an address on Steele Road at Waihi Beach where two very drunk males were fighting. One of the men used a knife; slicing the hand of his opponent quite badly and putting him in hospital.
Investigations are ongoing.
At the end of last week a Haynes Hunter boat called 'Bad Habits' was stolen from a Dillon Street property at Waihi Beach. Police are hoping someone saw the boat being towed by a trailer. Sergeant Fraser said he would like to hear from anyone who may have noticed the boat being moved at an unusual time of the day and provide a description of the car towing the boat.
Thieves broke into a property at Islington Terrace on Friday night making a mess as they searched through leaving the owners very distressed. Anyone who noticed anything unusual around Islington terrace last Friday night is asked to contact the police.
On Sunday night a silver metal trailer with a large, 4.7 metre long white Canadian canoe was stolen from a Baber Street property. The police would love to hear from anyone who can provide a description of the car used in the theft.
