The Vision Waihi Trust says the reappointment of former CEO Eddie Morrow as interim CEO is part of the ongoing review of its structure.

The review will include an evaluation of key staff requirements for the new Gold Discovery Centre and iSite. A press release from VWT said the review is to ‘ensure it has the required capacity to develop and establish a successful business operation’.

From April 1 Eddie Morrow will be back at the helm as the Trust oversees the implementation and construction of the Gold Discovery Centre project. Current CEO Mark Samson will move into a new role ‘concentrating on marketing activities for the Gold Discovery Centre’.

The resource and building consents for the Gold Discovery Centre project have been lodged and redevelopment of the current Information Centre will start in May. In the meantime the Information Centre will be relocated temporarily after the April school holidays.

The Vision Waihi Trust will soon be advertising for a permanent VWT CEO/ Gold Discovery Centre manager and it’s hoped the position will be filled by mid-year. We have asked Eddie Morrow whether he intends applying for the permanent position of CEO/Gold Discovery Centre manager and will let you know what his response is.
