The name of a motorcyclist killed in a collision near Whiritoa on Friday has been released.
Inspector Leo Tooman, the Waikato District Road Policing Manager said the man was 48 year old Daryl Wayne Bryenton, of Katikati.
"The crash is still under investigation by the Serious Crash Unit however initial indications are Mr Breyton died after he failed to negotiate a left hand bend on SH 25 and his motorcycle crossed the centre-line into the path of an oncoming Toyota Surf, 5 km north of Whiritoa, about 1.40 pm.
Inspector Tooman said, "this latest death is the 22nd fatality on Waikato roads this year compared to 34 for the same period in 2011. While our road toll is 12 less than last year's any road death is a tragedy and something we all need to work on to avoid."
