Waihi East Ratepayers Group Inc (WERGI) spokesman Terry Podmore says WERGI sees adjournment of the Hearing into the Newmont resource consent application for the Golden Link / Correnso Project as a good sign.
The Commissioners hearing the application have asked fthe Hauraki District Council and Newmont Waihi Gold to supply them with further information. That information will also be shared with all submitters and the Hearing will be reconvened on March 11.
WERGI is taking a break and will be holding a meeting in January and again before the Hearing reconvenes in March 2013.
Terry Podmore said the 20 bound copies of the submissions they were required to provide to the Hearing cost them over $1,000 so they're asking their members to help out with donations towards costs.
