Two Junior teams from the Waihi College have gone through this season's basketball competition unbeaten and they'll be working hard this Friday night to secure their final games at the Waihi Events Centre.
Teams from Manaia, Paeroa, Mercury Bay and the Hauraki Plains will travel to Waihi for the finals this Friday night and there's sure to be plenty of noise coming from the Events Centre.
The Waihi Junior girls team hits the court at 4.30 pm, up against Paeroa, and the Waihi Junior boys will play Mercury Bay at 5.30 pm.
The games are predicted to be exciting to watch as the Paeroa girls and Mercury Bay boys have fought hard to get into the finals and the Waihi teams won't want to give up their 'unbeaten this season' status.
The Junior prizegiving will start at 6.30 pm and the Seniors will be playing from 7 pm with the Senior girls Paeroa versus Hauraki Plains playing first, followed by Manaia versus Hauraki Plains in the Senior boys playoff.
The Senior prizegiving starts at 10 pm.
The teams would love to see some home support at the Waihi Events Centre to cheer them on.
A canteen will be operating for refreshments and a gold coin donation entry would be appreciated. The funds raised will go towards the Junior boys trip to a Rotorua competition at the beginning of September.
