Summer is here and the Waihi Beach Hotel will be hosting the first of a series of concerts this Saturday night.
The car park will become 'SUPER Top' ground zero for beach going music lovers as the beach pub gets set to host national and international acts for a summer festival.
The first show kicks off this Saturday with Blacklistt (the artists formerly known as Blindspott) and they'll be supported by Battle of The Bands finalists Villainy and DevilSkin.
This year the 'SUPER Top' sessions are extended over 6 dates from December 22 to January 5 and the garden bar and car park will be restructured to bring concert goers more food, more bars and lots more fun, pub management says. "The huge 'SUPER Top' will once again provide that boutique shelter from the elements and guarantee the shows will go off rain, hail or shine."
Acts this year include well known kiwi bands OpShop, Hello Sailor, Avalanche City, The Feelers, The Jordan Luck Band and Fagan & The People.
The pub runs a Battle of the Bands event each year and finalists from the competition will be strutting their stuff during the festival as well.
Brit singer come rapper Example will be hitting the beach pub for his only New Zealand gig on Thursday the 3rd of January and his show is likely to have fans swarming to the 'SUPER Top' to hear and see him perform his hits live.
Belgian DJ Netsky is featured in the line up too and the variety of acts being hosted at the beach pub offers something for every musical taste.
