The ARTWaikino committee is busy again organising their popular annual art exhibition at Labour Weekend.
This year a special category has been created to commemorate the centennary of the Waihi miner's strike.
Artists are encouraged to get their creative juices flowing and produce a work that represents the turmoil that the miner's and their families were experiencing one hundred years ago.
Exhibits can be in any medium and there will be one entry per person and one prize for this category.
Best painting, craft and photography categories are there again this year, and the mosaic section that had it's first showing last year is back for 2012.
Waikino played a significant role in the region's gold mining history and the historic Victoria Hall is once again the venue for the ArtWaikino exhibition.
The Labour Weekend show attracts many visitors to the area and all funds raised by the exhibition are used for the upkeep of the hall which is a credit to the hard working people of Waikino who maintain the history and colour of their area.
Entry forms will be available in July or August, and will be posted out to all artists who have exhibited previously.
If you've never exhibited before why not put your thinking cap on and plan masterpiece to grace the walls at the Victoria Hall during the ArtWaikino labour weekend exhibition.
